Costa Rica Writing Retreat January 2027

We all crave inspiration in today’s hectic world: the freedom to dream, the space to think, the time to focus on creating rather than consuming. We need to recharge and re-imagine how we see ourselves. To laugh, learn new skills, be alone when we choose to and be part of a community when the mood takes us. To reconnect with the natural world, and re-assert our connection to it.

It’s hard to imagine a more perfect place to satisfy these needs than beautiful Quepos. Join us for a creative writing retreat in a boutique Hotel surrounded by rainforest, close to beaches, the town of Quepos and Marina Pez Vela, 3 hours south of San Jose International Airport. There are scarlet macaws nesting in the grounds and monkeys and toucans are regular visitors. The hotel has a pretty pool, a bar with great cocktails and plenty of lovely spots in which to relax and write. Our group will share transportation from San Jose airport, or writers can choose to make their own way there.
