Retreat with Meg | 4-Day Writing Retreat | 19–22 November 2026

Another year nearly done. How much of it went to your writing?

Four days at Karma Kinglake won't make up for all of it, but it will give you a proper send-off for the year. Time to finish something, start something, or simply reconnect with the work you've been meaning to get back to.

Set on the edge of Kinglake National Park, just a short drive from Melbourne, this is a small and intimate retreat — deliberately limited to seven to ten writers — where the pace is gentle, the food is good, and the writing actually gets done.

Retreat with Meg is built around writing time first. The optional daily workshops, the evening gatherings, the one-on-one coaching sessions. Everything is designed to support your writing, not compete with it.

Over three nights and four days, you'll have:

  • Generous, uninterrupted writing time, built around your writing and not squeezed around it
  • A private cottage with a queen bedroom, ensuite, kitchenette and dedicated writing space
  • Fully catered meals from fresh, nutritious ingredients, with breakfast, lunch and snacks self-serve so you can work to your own rhythm
  • Evening gatherings for drinks, cheese and readings
  • Optional daily workshops tailored to the group, designed to deepen your relationship with your story, characters and creative self
  • A complimentary one-hour one-on-one coaching session with Meg Dunley, trained mindset and life coach, writer and editor
  • Pre- and post-retreat Zoom consultations to set your intentions and maintain momentum after you leave
  • Access to an extensive writing and creativity resource library, plus a welcome goody bag
  • An invitation to Meg's private online writing community, Write and Thrive

Meg has been running writing retreats for over a decade and knows what writers actually need: time, quiet, good food, the right kind of company, and someone in their corner. Over 25% of participants come back for a second, third or fourth retreat.

Writers of all levels are welcome, from those writing in notebooks for the love of it, to emerging writers finding their voice, to established authors working on their next manuscript
